Advantage Health Host Free Community Health Rally Aug 26 in Detroit

Advantage Health is hosting its annual Community Health Rally on Friday, Aug. 26 from 12-5 pm at its Health Center located at 1355 Oakman Blvd, Detroit MI 48238.  The event is free to attend and all are invited.

This is a great opportunity for families to get more information and resources to support a healthy lifestyle for young kids, teens and adults. Advantage will provide several educational resources on such topics as nutrition, hypertension, diabetes, the importance of exercise and more. Free health services will be available such as blood pressure screenings, COVID testing and vaccination and more.

Attendees can register for appointments with Advantage providers and learn more information about its medical, dental and behavioral health services. Walk-in appointments for medical services will be available all day (9-5 pm) at the Oakman Blvd. Health Center on a first come, first serve basis.

Several partners such as Michigan State University Extension will be onsite with free giveaways, information and additional health and wellness resources. Light food and refreshments will be available. Seniors are welcome as well.

“We have not been able to have this event for the past couple of years so we’re excited to continue the tradition,” said Advantage CEO Nina Abubakari. “It’s a great time for parents to remind their children about the importance of a healthy lifestyle at home and at school and serves as a reminder that there are many steps, literally, we can take to develop healthy habits.”
