Dr. Roxsanna Collins

General Psychologist / Addiction Counselor

Dr. Roxsanna Collins, PhD D-TLLP is a limited licensed general psychologist encompassing knowledge and experience in clinical and cognitive psychology using an integrative therapeutic approach. She helps individuals aged 3 and older learn and apply therapeutic interventions to enhance subjective and objective well-being. Person-centered planning, psychoeducation, skill-building, and distress tolerance are just a few tools she uses to encourage individuals to explore and process new or difficult situations, thoughts, and/or feelings.

Her academic career concluded with establishing the Well-Being Amid Multiple Adverse Risk Theory and the PERMANENCE Model. She has spent many years observing and working with children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder, adults with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, spirituality issues, work adversity, family dynamic issues, emotional disturbances, LGBTQ+, public service and safety workers, jail/prison population, and adjustment disorders.

Dr. Collins earned her bachelor’s degree in science with a concentration in Accounting from The University of Phoenix. She earned her master’s degree of science in Psychology from The University of Phoenix and a doctorate in General Psychology from Capella University. She has engaged in therapy and assessments in private and community-based agencies in the Metro-Detroit area. She established membership with APA in 2017. She is a lifetime member of the Psi Chi International Honor Society for Psychology, Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society, and the National Society of Leadership and Success, where she holds the Executive Leadership honor.

Dr. Collins encompasses evidence-based practices aligned with the Philosophy of Positive Psychology and humanistic and/or behavioral approaches.
