AHC started out August with a bang with this year’s National Health Center Week. National Health Cen-ter gives Health Centers a chance to bring light to the health needs in our communities and the shared stake in community health. It allows us to show not only what we do but how our unique model of care is of-fering solutions to the nation’s health care crisis. Health Center Week has become a powerful tool to rally public support for the Health Centers program.
The goals of National Health Center Week are two-fold: To enhance the visibility and profile of Communi-ty, Migrant, and Homeless, and Public Housing Cen-ters; and to generate community pride and build sup-port for the health centers program.
AHC set up a week of events around the city of De-troit to do Health Screenings, build awareness for community health centers, and to arrange appoint-ments for our clinics. We conducted over 40 health screenings and set up more than 45 appointments! Thank you to everyone involved that made this week a huge success, and we look forward to doing even bet-ter next year!
